He has been part of the Tamworth  Country music experience with  with bands like The Dancehall Racketeers, Redgum, The Cajun Combo,The Baylor Brothers, Feral Swing Katz, the Leslie Avril band and many others over the years. Over that time he released many independent CDs, appeared on Starmaker in the 90’s,won a Golden Fiddle Award  and played with everyone from the big stars under the spotlight to the buskers down on Peel Street. He has fiddled with Slim Dusty, supported the likes of Chad Morgan, The Emmanuel Brothers, Robert Plant, Bob Dylan, Dr John ,Slim Whitman  and journeyed to the heart of American country music, Nashville, on more than one occasion. Andy  has also spent time in the bayous around  Lafayette, Louisiana  learning Cajun music from some of the greats and will include some Cajun specialties in the show. As Andy recalls :- ‘There’s a great story about Hank spending a bit of down time in the Cajun Bars of Southern  Louisiana. Legend has it that he loved the Cajun bars  and enjoyed all those sweet  Cajun melodies. He loved the emotional directness of the Cajun music and incorporated it into his own sound….”  Down through the years, Andy has been  influential in creating  a sound and feeling  in Australian country music which draws on the  roots of the music and makes something new of it – Old Hillbilly, Western Swing, Bluegrass, Old-timey,Cajun and Classic Country – it’s all there. And who better to pay tribute to than the great Country troubadour himself, Hank Williams, whose songs still travel that Lost Highway with us all .
