Farmer Fridays

From 6th – 20th  July we are inviting staff, members, and guests of our clubs to wear jeans, throw on a flannelette shirt ad the obligatory Akubra hat each Friday in support of farming families in our region who are in need of assistance during the drought. Donation boxes for this fundraiser will be located throughout the venues.

Well below average rain and widespread drought across the New England Northwest Region is starting to take its toll. Many farmers have sold off all but their core breeding stock and they have been left hand-feeding for months. Money is tight and debts are mounting.
Aussie farmers are the backbone of our country and work tirelessly to put food on our tables but in tough times like these, they need our help and support.
Even if it rained steadily now, farmers won’t see paddocks green up for months.
“R U Aware, We Care” is a joint initiative of 88.9FM and Tamworth Regional Council with the generous support of Wests Entertainment Group, Salvation Army Tamworth, CWA, Tamworth Business Chamber, and the NSW Farmers Association.
All donations will assist farming families who need a helping hand from the New England Northwest Region.
Requests for assistance from farming families will be handled independently by the Salvation Army.

Visit the online payment portal to donate via Paypal, or visit a TRC customer service centre to donate in person.
