Apply for Sponsorship

Each year local charities, sporting groups, community groups and the like receive funding or in-kind support from your local clubs, Wests and Wests' Diggers. This funding is provided under Category 2 of ClubGRANTS, one of the largest grant programs in Australia.

Following an audit by Liquor & Gaming NSW on ClubGRANTS, a number of changes to the guidelines were made which has seen the introduction of new accountability requirements.

Going forward, when applying for sponsorship you must provide the following information in your request.

Failure to do so will result in your request being either held over or declined.

1. Provide a project name. For example, 2025 Season Sponsorship Proposal.

2. Provide a detailed outline on what the funding will be used for. For example, funding will be used towards season expenses (list the type of expenses), to purchase equipment/gear (list type of equipment/gear), uniforms or for fee subsidies etc.

3. Detail who will benefit from the funding.

4. Detail how this funding will make a difference to you.

5. Advise the year you were formed.

6. List any other sponsors.

For funding to be eligible under ClubGRANTS, there must be no obligation to give anything in return for the funding. For example, if WEG sponsors a sporting group and they voluntarily promote WEG on social media, that’s allowed. However, if the sponsorship requires the sporting group to display the WEG logo on their jerseys in exchange for the funding, that would not be allowed.

As well if sponsorship is approved, you must also submit a Statutory Declaration confirming the funds were spent as represented in your request.
