At the Wests Entertainment Group, your safety is our priority. We proudly display our tick of approval as a registered COVID Safe business with the NSW Government. Our COVID-19 Safety Plan includes our commitment to the wellbeing of patrons & staff, physical distancing measures, hygiene & cleaning as well as record keeping.
The following measures are in place to protect our patrons & staff:

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
A team member will greet you at reception and you will be directed to use hand sanitiser. You will be asked if you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms of COVID-19 and if you have been in contact with someone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days. If you answer yes, you will not be permitted to enter our venues.
As a condition of entry, you will be required to sign in and out of our venues. We are required to record the name and contact details of any person that enters our venues (including staff and contractors) for contact tracing purposes. For the avoidance of doubt, minors details are not required to be recorded. Upon request by the Chief Health Officer, records will be provided as soon as practicable and within 12 hours of the request. All records are stored confidentially and securely for a minimum 28 days.

Are food & beverage outlets open?
Our dining outlets and bars are open with physical distancing measures in place.
Are gaming lounges open?
Yes. All gaming lounges are open with physical distancing measures in place including every second poker machine turned off where practical.
What payment options are available?
We encourage you to use our Tap and Go contactless electronic payment methods.
ATM facilities are available and are frequently sanitised.
Can minors attend the club under current restrictions?
Yes, but only in the company of a responsible adult. A responsible adult means an adult who is:
- A parent, step-parent or guardian of the minor; or
- The minor’s spouse or de facto partner; or
- For the time being standing in as the parent of the minor
How are we managing the health and safety of patrons and staff?
Keeping our patrons and staff safe is our number one priority. We will continue to apply the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene in our venues. We have increased cleaning schedules including deep sanitisation prior to opening and installed hand sanitiser stations throughout all areas. Our increased focus on physical distancing assistance measures includes floor graphic decals, queuing systems and signage as well as switching off every second poker machine where practical. We have dedicated social distancing ambassadors monitoring numbers and enforcing physical distancing requirements.
How can patrons assist with keeping each other safe?
In accordance with best practice guidelines we recommend all patrons adopt high standards of personal hygiene, including washing hands and using hand sanitiser frequently.
Safe physical distancing requirements include:
- All patrons are to be seated while socialising
- As mingling has been identified as a key risk factor, group size is limited to no more than 30 patrons
- Individuals in a group cannot move from one group to another
To make it easier for you to visualise the recommended safe physical distance between people when ordering, please look for the floor graphic decals. Standing on these decals will ensure you are separated from other patrons by the recommended 1.5 metres.
Patrons who feel unwell with cold or flu like symptoms are requested to follow advice of health authorities and stay at home. Patrons who exhibit any symptoms whilst in our venues will be asked to leave.

Do households need to social/physical distance inside our clubs?
Members of the same household are not required to physically distance. Groups of friends may not necessarily all be household-like contacts and will be required to physically distance.
Is Mercure Tamworth open?
Yes. The Mercure Tamworth looks forward to welcoming you for your next business or leisure stay.
How long will the current restrictions apply?
The NSW Government has not advised how long these restrictions will apply however they will be reviewed regularly in line with the broader COVID-19 situation.
