Our COVID-19 Safety Plan includes our commitment to the wellbeing of patrons & staff, physical distancing measures, hygiene & cleaning as well as record keeping.

The following measures are in place to protect our patrons & staff:

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

From 1 January 2021, all hospitality venues are required to use the NSW Government QR code check-in system.

Posters displaying the venues unique QR code are prominently displayed at the venues entrance for you to scan. At reception, staff will confirm you have successfully checked in (green tick). For patrons without smartphones or if there are technical difficulties with the QR code, the Service NSW webform is used to record your details.

It is mandatory that you check-in using one of the above two methods before entering our venues.

Are food & beverage outlets open?

Our dining outlets and bars are open with physical distancing measures in place.


Are gaming lounges open?

All gaming lounges are open with physical distancing measures in place.


What payment options are available?

We encourage patrons to use the contactless Tap & Go facilities which are located at all service points where possible.

ATM facilities are available and are frequently sanitised.


Can minors attend the club under current restrictions?

Yes, but only in the company of a responsible adult. A responsible adult means an adult who is:

  • A parent, step-parent or guardian of the minor; or
  • The minor’s spouse or de facto partner; or
  • For the time being standing in as the parent of the minor

How are we managing the health and safety of patrons and staff?

Keeping our patrons and staff safe is our number one priority. We will continue to apply the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene in our venues. We have increased cleaning schedules including deep sanitisation prior to opening and installed hand sanitiser stations throughout all areas. Our increased focus on physical distancing assistance measures includes floor graphic decals, queuing systems and signage. We have dedicated COVID Safe ambassadors whose role is to ensure appropriate separation measures & personal hygiene procedures are complied with, monitoring the ongoing cleaning of areas and that density limits are not exceeded.


How can patrons assist with keeping each other safe?

In accordance with best practice guidelines we recommend all patrons adopt high standards of personal hygiene, including washing hands and using hand sanitiser frequently.

Mingling has been identified as a key risk factor. Contact or mingling between groups and tables should be reduced wherever possible.

Patrons are encouraged to practice physical distancing from others, where practicable. To make it easier for you to visualise a safe physical distance, please look for the floor graphic decals. Standing on these decals will ensure you are separated from other patrons by 1.5 metres.

Patrons who feel unwell with cold or flu like symptoms are requested to follow the advice of health authorities and stay at home. Patrons who exhibit any symptoms whilst in our venues will be asked to leave.

Do households need to social/physical distance inside our clubs?

Households or other close contacts are not required to physically distance. Groups of friends may not necessarily all be household-like contacts and will be required to physically distance.

Yes. The Mercure Tamworth looks forward to welcoming you for your next business or leisure stay.


How long will the current restrictions apply?

The NSW Government has not advised how long restrictions will apply however they will be reviewed regularly in line with the broader COVID-19 situation.
