Returning for the 4th consecutive year at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, the Fingerpickers Showcase brings together some of Australia’s finest fingerstyle and acoustic guitarists for a celebration of the guitar in all its forms!

Hosted by acclaimed Australian fingerstyle guitarist Elias Bartholomeo, the showcase explores the rich history, diversity and evolution of fingerpicking – from the pioneering sounds of Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Arthur “Guitar Boogie” Smith and Doc Watson, through the rock ’n’ roll influence of The Shadows, the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt and into the modern era with guitarists such as Tommy Emmanuel.

Expect an exciting journey through country, blues, folk, jazz, rock ’n’ roll, bluegrass, gypsy jazz and contemporary fingerstyle, all performed on acoustic guitar.
With many special guest guitarists joining Elias on stage, each bringing their own unique style, influences and approach to the instrument, the Fingerpickers Showcase is as much a celebration of the players as it is of the music that inspired them.

Elias Bartholomeo is an internationally touring fingerstyle guitarist from Sydney, Australia, known for his energetic performances and ability to blend blues, country and jazz into intricate, melody-driven arrangements. Having begun playing guitar at just four years old and performing alongside his guitar hero Tommy Emmanuel at 16, Elias has dedicated his career to exploring the possibilities of the acoustic guitar and sharing the joys of music with people around the world.
