Kevin Sullivan & The Sulli-Vans – Tamworth Country Music Festival 2024

Award winning country music singer songwriter Kevin Sullivan & The Sulli-Vans return to BLAZES on Wednesday 24 January at 10am to set the stage alight to launch songs from their new album “Threeways”

Kevin Sullivan is already acclaimed by audiences for his diverse sound and show, taking you on an unforgettable journey from traditional Ballard’s, to anthems and toe tapping line dancing.  Sullivan usually writes and performs songs that relate to people, places and culture of Australia, particularly the outback. His new album is awe-inspiring as it features his family The Sulli-Vans, multi-generational country artists renowned for their energy, soul and breathtaking three-part harmonies. Their shows and original music are characterised by great Australian storytelling, humour and love, along with memorable covers of iconic country and contemporary music.

The Sulli-Vans show will include a star-studded lineup of producers who have worked on the new Album “Threeways”, including Country Music legend Bill Chambers and Aria & Golden Guitar winning Producer Matt Fell. Bill Chambers will join the Sulli-Vans to perform the song ‘’High Country Snows”, a duet co-written by Bill and Kevin.  The duet brings together the nomadic rawness of Chambers and the rich organic vocals of Sullivan. Having both spent extensive time in the outback and on the land, beside campfires, they wanted to recreate this simplicity with their sound, creating an earthy stripped back arrangement utilising the swag of guitars Chambers travels with and their voices in a compelling duet that takes you into the Victorian High Country capturing our history in this passionate love story and the untamed wild beauty of our brumbies and the land.
The Sulli-Vans, led by Kevin (dad) includes the youngest three children of his tribe of five, KJ (son 13 yrs) Cha Cha (daughter 11 yrs) and Jet (son 7 yrs).  They won hearts around the country when they appeared on The Voice Generations, with Keith Urban remarking, “your beautiful Australian spirit was so present and gorgeous”.

In the past three years, they have travelled over 140,000 km across Australia in their custom-made, Sunland Sulli-van caravan, playing more than 250 shows in regional and remote communities: from intimate ticketed shows at Oodies Café (QLD) to performing for thousands at the Man From Snowy River Festival (VIC). In doing so, The Sulli-Vans have crafted an enrapturing country music show, establishing them as a unique and crowd-entertaining addition to festival line-ups throughout Australia. Don’t miss this iconic Australian family show during the Tamworth Country Music Festival!
